Biography

Jean Thacker, 53, of Dalton, was called by God to be with Him in her new home on Wednesday, February 24, 2010. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her son, "Little Thomas" who was six months old.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Steve Thacker; daughter, Angelina Linke; three grandsons, Aubrey, Oscar and Sawyer; mother and stepfather, Pat and Jean Bivens; four sisters, Darlene Benton, Tina Childers, Marie Hall and Sherry Bunch; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Union Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Humberd and Pastor Danny Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Aubrey Vaquera, Scott Thacker, Clay Grant, Myran Hawkins, Joey Hall and Richmond Holder serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

Her family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 797 Hughes Lake Road, Cleveland, TN 37323.
