Leon “Dickie” Grady, 75, of Cleveland passed away recently at his residence. He was retired from Durken Spinning. He was a master electrician. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served with the 101st Airborne. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lake Leon Grady, Sr. and Mary Fletcher Grady and a sister, Patricia Millsaps.
He is survived by his children, Connie Grady Coots and husband, Danny of Chattanooga, Mickey Grady of Nashville and Carl Lee Grady of Cleveland; grandson, Chris Park of Cleveland; great granddaughter, Kelsie Mary Rain Park of Cleveland; sister, Betty Parris of Cleveland; mother and step mother of his children, Mary Ann Grady; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors. Reverend Sonny Ledford will officiate. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
