Reverend Harvey T. Booher, 85, of Cleveland, passed away Friday, November 13, 2009, in a Cleveland healthcare facility. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force. He was employed in customer service with Maytag for over 30 years and was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. Rev. Booher served as a Baptist minister for 59 years pastoring churches in Tennessee, Arizona, Texas, California and Hawaii. He was a moderator for the Bradley County Baptist Association and a member of the American Legion.
His parents, John and Martha Austin Booher, preceded him in death as well as his wife, Nina Grace Booher in 2007.
He is survived by his two sons: James H. Booher and wife Elaine, and Paul E. Booher and wife Michele, all of Cleveland; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two sisters: Blanche Traugotte of Knoxville, and Reva Edis of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Tony McClanahan and Reverend Bill Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with James Booher, Paul Booher, Richard Booher, Jimmy Booher, Will Booher and Artemio Lopez serving as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
